The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively based on legal provisions (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act, Austrian Data Protection Act). We strive to limit the amount of required data to a minimum and use it only for the agreed purpose.

3. Categories of Processed Data and Retention Periods

3.1.      Customer Data and Business Partners

Processed Data:

  • Master data (name, title, address)
  • Contact information (phone, fax, email, website)
  • Delivery and billing addresses
  • Company registry data, VAT number
  • Contact persons and authorised signatories
  • Credit limits and payment reminders
  • Contract subject matter and service data

Retention Period:

  • Contract data: 7 years (tax law retention requirement)
  • Product liability data (name, address, goods, purchase date): 10 years

5. Targeted Advertising and Content Recognition Technology (ACR)

5.1.      Consent Required

We use your data for targeted advertising only after your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

5.2.      Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) Technology

StreamView may choose to implement Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) software powered by artificial intelligence on our Smart TVs and connected devices.

What is ACR? ACR helps rec what you watch to improve recommendations. It only works if you allow it.

If we implement this technology, it can identify and analyse the content you watch to provide enhanced services and advertising opportunities.

5.3.      ACR Data Collection and Processing

Should StreamView decide to implement ACR technology, and with your explicit consent, the system may collect and process:

  • Content fingerprints: Digital signatures of audio/video content you watch
  • Viewing behaviour: What content you watch, when, and for how long
  • Contextual information: Information derived from broadcast or streaming content
  • Device identifiers: Unique identifiers for your TV or streaming device
  • Usage logs: How you interact with your device and applications
  • Metadata: Information about the content, channels, and services accessed

5.4.      Traditional Advertising Data

In addition to ACR data, with your consent, we may also use:

  • Contact information for sending marketing materials
  • Purchase history and preferences
  • Website usage behaviour (cookies, tracking)
  • Demographic information
  • Interest profiles based on your behaviour

5.5.      Technologies Used

  • ACR Software: AI-powered content identification and analysis
  • Content Fingerprinting: Recognition of audio/video patterns
  • Audience Measurement: Analytics on viewing patterns and preferences
  • Cookies and Tracking Pixels: For analysing user behaviour across devices
  • Profiling: Creating personalised advertising and content profiles
  • Retargeting: Display of relevant advertising on other platforms
  • Cross-device tracking: Linking behaviour across multiple devices
  • Email Marketing: Personalised newsletters and offers

5.6.      Data Sharing and Monetisation

Third-Party Data Processing:

  • Should StreamView implement ACR technology, we may partner with technology providers for ACR services
  • ACR data may be processed and commercialised by technology partners for advertising and audience measurement
  • Revenue from data monetisation may be shared between StreamView and technology partners
  • Data may be combined with other datasets for enhanced advertising

International Data Transfers: If ACR technology is implemented, ACR data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EU/EEA, including territories where our technology partners operate, subject to appropriate safeguards under GDPR.

5.7.      Withdrawal of Consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons:

  • Through your TV settings: Access privacy/data settings menu on your Smart TV
  • By email todataprotection@thomsonelectronic.com
  • Via unsubscribe links in our marketing emails
  • In writing to our business address
  • Through cookie settings on our website

Important: When you withdraw consent:

  • ACR data collection will immediately cease for your specific device (if ACR is implemented)
  • Previously collected data may continue to be processed during a 12-month wind-down period
  • Some TV features dependent on content recognition may be limited
  • The withdrawal applies to future data collection and does not affect past lawful processing

5.8.      Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

We use automated decision-making, including profiling for:

  • Content recommendations: Suggesting TV shows, movies, or channels
  • Targeted advertising: Displaying personalised advertisements
  • Audience segmentation: Categorising viewers for advertising purposes

Your rights regarding automated decisions:

  • Right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing
  • Right to request human review of automated decisions
  • Right to express your viewpoint and contest automated decisions
  • Right to request an explanation of the logic involved in automated processing

5.9.      Data Retention for Advertising

  • ACR Data: Retained for the duration of your consent plus a 12-month wind-down period
  • Advertising profiles: Deleted within 14 months after consent withdrawal
  • Anonymised analytics: May be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes
  • Marketing communications: Until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent

 

6. Smart TVs and Internet-Connected Devices

6.1.      Data Collection on Smart TVs and ACR Technology

On internet-connected devices (Smart TVs, receivers, streaming sticks), the following data is collected:

Technical Data:

  • Device ID, IP and MAC address
  • Device information and configuration
  • Operating system version, client type
  • Screen resolution (for TVs)
  • Time zone, country and language settings

ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) Data (should StreamView choose to implement):

  • Content fingerprints and viewing patterns
  • Channel and program identification
  • Viewing duration and frequency
  • Audio/video content analysis
  • Contextual information from broadcast or streaming content
  • Usage logs and interaction data

Purpose:

  • Providing location-based services
  • Content identification and recommendations (should ACR be implemented)
  • Advertising and audience measurement (should ACR be implemented)
  • Analytics and monetisation activities
  • Preventing abuse and ensuring security

 

6.2.      Operating Systems and Platform Services

Our connected devices (Smart TVs, OTT Receivers, Smart Monitors) may use various operating systems:

Android TV / Google TV by Google LLC:

  • Google account is not mandatory for basic operation
  • Some features (Google Play Store, voice control, casting) require Google account

Other Operating Systems:

  • Additional platforms may be supported depending on the device model
  • Each platform has its own privacy policies and data handling practices

Important: StreamView has no control over data collection by these third-party operating system providers. Please review the respective privacy policies of each platform for information about their data practices.

  • No telephone inquiries for data protection reasons - no personal data, including delivery information, will be provided by phone
  • Written requests are required for all data protection inquiries
  • Identity verification is mandatory before any personal data disclosure to ensure data is only provided to the rightful person
  • Processing Time: Within one month of receipt
  • Proof of identity: Valid government-issued ID or other acceptable identification documents required

10.3.   Costs

Information is generally provided free of charge. For manifestly unfounded or excessive requests, reasonable fees may be charged.

 

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated due to legal changes or new business processes. The current version is always available on our website.
